We will be exhibiting HandySPIM, a portable light sheet microscope light source, and LUCID-B, the world's most high-performance tissue clearing reagent, at the USCAP 114th Annual Meeting (The United States and Canadian Academy of Pathology) exhibition to be held in Boston from March 24th to 26th, 2025 (Booth No. 108).

LUCID, a tissue clearing reagent that can transparentize living organisms such as animal organs and plants, does not lose the biological components that you want to observe. LUCID is the only reagent that allows detailed analysis because there is no loss of biological components to be observed, and allows for long-term preservation of transparent specimens because tissue disintegration is unlikely to occur.
HandySPIM is an ultra-compact light sheet microscope light source that can be used as a 3D fluorescence microscope by simply placing it on your daily-use microscope. This is a unique product that combines features such as high resolution, low price, and no installation work (portable).

At the SPIE Photonics West 2025 International Conference, we exhibited at our own booth at the SPIE BiOS 2025 Expo (January 25th and 26th), and at the booths of Nippon Electric Glass Co., Ltd. and NTT Innovative Devices Corporation at the SPIE Photonics West 2025 Expo (January 28th to 30th). Additionally, on January 29th, we held an invited talk at the Photonics West conference entitled "Development of lensless light-sheet sources and their application for compact selective plane illumination microscopy (SPIM) (Invited Paper)."

Who we are?

PhotonTech Innovations Co., Ltd. is a venture company from the University of Tokyo (UTokyo) established to commercialize the research results of the UTokyo with the participation of researchers belonging to the UTokyo.

In addition, we are participating in the Center of Innovation (COI) program founded by the MEXT (Ministry of Education, Culture, Sports, Science and Technology of Japan) and JST (Japan Science and Technology Agency), and are a member company of the "Innovation Center by Coherent Photon Technology" (ICCPT).

RECILS is a new additive manufacturing (3D printing) technology that has realized both high-speed and high-resolution molding for the first time. RECILS can be applied in many fields including microfluidics, optical communication devices, honeycomb structure fabrication, and plastic part fabrication.

Tissue-clearing Technology "LUCID"
A unique microscope will be developed for observing lesions, such as tumors, inside organs using a tissue-clarification method called “LUCID,” which has been developed by The University of Tokyo. Using this microscope technique, the cost and time spent on diagnostic techniques in pathology will be reduced.
